| ABOUT US |
Rick’s Café is named after Richard Lee a gentleman of Korean descent! Back in his country Richard was influenced heavily by American culture. As a consequence he became enamored with the idea of one day immigrating to America to be part of the dream. Many years later after much hard work and dedication he came to realize his ambition by first owning and running a coffee shop in San Carlos, California called “The Plantation”. After 15 years of successful entrepreneurship he and his wife retired, but idle time was not their favorite past time so Mrs. Lee encouraged and goaded her husband to create another venture, this time however she asked him to conceive a dream in which their creation would pay homage to the country for which they had come to honor and love. So it was that Rick’s Café came to be the All Star American Restaurant, serving traditional Good Old Fashioned Hearty American Foods, dished up in generous portions and made with the freshest market ingredients. Our Food If it is not good enough for us, it is not good enough for the customer! Many restaurants serve food that they themselves would not eat. At our café, the chef checks for quality during preparation and he also checks the final output as the food is placed out to be served. Our servers are trained to look for bad plating, over or under cooked food, and or missing ingredients. But in general the rule is, “if you wouldn’t eat it don’t serve it!” We took great pain to inspect not just the quality of our product but also to inspect the facilities of our suppliers. We wanted to make sure that we were doing business with companies who had the same high standard of quality that we ourselves try to uphold. | |
